<p>Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said his visit to India has contributed in highlighting the common interest and prosperity and that Nepal had a special place in BRICS.</p><p>He said Nepal had raised the issue of energy development regional contact network and people's level relation expansion with top priority. <br><br>The Prime Minister stated this in his address to the Legislature-Parliament today. <br><br>On the occasion, he informed the House about the works being carried out by the government, his meetings with BRICS and BIMSTEC leaders on the sidelines of the BRICS-BIMSTEC Outreach Summit Conference and issues that Nepal raised during the Conference. <br><br>Prime Minister Dahal informed that he on behalf of Nepal took up the issue of the expansion of people-to-people relations between Nepal and India, development of energy and expansion of regional connectivity. <br><br>Efforts have been made to strengthen mutual relations between Nepal and India while maintaining high-level diplomatic norms and take the relations to a height keeping the welfare of Nepal and Nepalis at the centre, he said. <br><br>Likewise, PM Dahal said India and China were positive about the proposal floated by himself during the Summit concerning three-country common concept. <br><br>There is the need of the hour for all political parties to strike a new consensus for the implementation of the constitution. <br><br>The constitution implementation should not be made an issue of the ruling party and the opposition, he said. <br><br>The Prime Minister also informed the Parliament that a final draft of the constitution amendment proposal is being prepared. <br><br>Formulation of laws demanded by the constitution is the top priority of the government, he said, adding that formulation of laws related to the elections and voters list is in the final phase. <br><br>The government is working out on a draft with a target of introducing the constitution amendment proposal to the House by the upcoming Chhath festival and is attempting to find a way out for so from discussions at different levels, the Prime Minister said. <br><br>He said that instructions were sent to summon a meeting of the National Development Problem Resolution Committee to implement the projects of top priority.<br><br>The government is extending necessary and continued support to the Local Bodies Restructuring Commission with top priority to implement federalism, PM Dahal said. <br><br>He vowed to hold the elections by holding dialogue with all the sides to reach an agreement on time to implement the constitution.<br> <br><b>PARLIAMENT WILL NEXT CONVENE ON OCTOBER 20 AT 1 PM </b><br><br>The Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation has come up with 29-point commitment paper in a bid to make its programmes more effective. <br><br>Organizing a news conference today, the Ministry informed that the commitment was made to ensure result-oriented programmes and effective and smooth public service delivery as distribution of woods and timbers for the reconstruction activities, reduction of the import of foreign wood, forwarding programmes on forest and wildlife conservation and against encroachment of forest, and tree plantation. <br>Ministry Spokesperson Prem Narayan Kandel said all good initations begun in the past would be continued. <br><br>On the occasion, Ministry Secretary Krishna Chandra Poudel informed the media that government is planning to purchase at least three ambulances for the rescue, treatment and management of wild animals. <br><br><br><b>PM DAHAL'S ATTENTION DRAWN TOWARDS KATHMANDU-NIJGADH FAST TRACK<br></b><br>Locals of Khokana, Sainbu and Bungmati of Lalitpur district residing along the Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track have drawn attention of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal about their problems and demands. <br><br>An all-party concern committee under the leadership of Spokesperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pampha Bhusal, called on the PM today and demanded increase in the compensation to be given by the government in course of land acquisition for the fast track construction. <br><br>On the occasion, office-bearers of the committee urged the PM to provide compensation as per the current market price and to protect local culture and heritages in course of fast track construction. <br><br>Stating that Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track is in priority of the government as it is a project of national pride, PM Dahal expressed the commitment that he would soon hold discussion about the concern of local stakeholders and project implementation by organising a meeting in this regard.<br><br><b>PM-PP MEETING</b><br><br>Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal has informed that preparation is underway to amend constitution soon after the Chhath Festival.<br><br>Addressing the parliamentary party meeting of the Maoist Centre today, he said the government is gearing up works for local body elections in Mid April by amending the constitution soon after the Chhath Festival.<br><br>The prime minister further said discussion with the main opposition party is going on positively to forge consensus for the <p>Minister for Supplies, Deepak Bohara, and visiting Chinese Minister of State Administration for Industry and Commerce, Zhang Mao, today held talks in the capital city. <br><br>The two ministers also signed an agreement on consumers' rights protection and exchange of support and information related to the sector. <br><br>On the occasion, Minister Bohara expressed belief the agreement would make important contribution in enhancing Nepal – China trade and protecting consumers' rights. <br><br>The visiting Chinese Minister shared his belief that the agreement would help boost additional trade between Nepal and China. <br><br><br><br></p>
<p>Minister for Industry, Nabindra Raj Joshi, and Chinese Minister of State Administration for Industry and Commerce, Zhang Mao, today held bilateral talks today. </p><p>The meeting touched on the subjects of Nepal – China relations and Chinese support for overall economic development of Nepal, Industry Minister Joshi told the media persons. <br><br>Minister Joshi is learnt to have taken the opportunity to apprise the Chinese Minister of Nepali political parties' focus on economic prosperity in the scenario following the making of the constitution. The Minister also underlined the creation of an environment conducive to investment in Nepal. <br><br>During the talks, Chinese Minister Zhang said the Chinese investors are eager to invest in Nepal and made an inquiry into securing the investment. The Chinese government is ready to help Nepal in using the Chinese technology in Nepal's cottage and small industry sector. <br><br>He added that Nepal could benefit tremendously from Chinese economic progress and that Nepal could make use of the expertise gained by China in the industrial sector. <br><br><br></p>
<p>Scientists from 16 countries of the globe have been in Pokhara since October 17 to discuss about latest researches and studies on material science and engineering.<br><br>They will stay for two more days in course of attending the ongoing four-day Kathmandu Symposia on Advanced Material Science organised by Nepal Polymer Institute with the support from the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, the Pokhara University and German-based Institute of Polymer Research (IPW).<br><br>According to event coordinator Rameshwor Adhikari, 180 scientists from Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Italy, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Japan, Korea, Germany and South Africa are now available in the beautiful city Pokhara for a conference. <br><br>The four-day conference that kicked off Monday has started in-depth discussions about latest research and studies undertaken in material science and engineering, it is said.<br><br><br></p>
