SIX KILLED, SIX INJURED IN RAMECHHAP ROAD ACCIDENT

<p>Six persons have died and as many were hurt when a vehicle met with an accident today noon at Okhreni in Ramechhap Municapality-1 in Ramechhap district.<br><br>The ill-fated Tata Sumo was heading towards Himganga VDC from old district headquarters Ramechhap Danda fell some 300 metres from the road, Makhhan Yadav, Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Ramechhap informed from the accident site.<br><br>The identity of the deceased ones has not been ascertained yet, shared Police Inspector Yadav.<br><br></p>

AUSTRALIAN GOVT TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR IWRM

<p>Australian government has agreed to provide technical assistance to scientifically move forward the integrated water resources management in Nepal. <br><br>Discussion were held between concerned authorities of Nepal and Australia to this effect during the Australia visit by a high level delegation from the Department of Water Induced Disaster Prevention, the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, the Department of Electricity Development and the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS). <br><br>The WECS said the Australian government has expressed its interest on moving ahead the project of Koshi river basin as a model project and studying on other river basins on the same basis. <br><br></p>

DAHAL SAYS HE WILL LEAD NEW GOVERNMENT AFTER BUDGET IS PASSED

<p>CPN Maoist (Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he will be leading the new government to be formed soon after the release of the budget as per the nine-point understanding reached between his party and the CPN (UML). &nbsp;<br><br>In a press conference organized by the Revolutionary Journalists Association, Chitwan chapter today, chair Dahal claimed that it is not written agreement but it is agreed by the two parties for the same. <br><br>He added that he was confident that the new government would be of national consensus.&nbsp; Leader Dahal stressed on such government even to implement the new constitution, expediting the post- quake reconstruction projects, resolving the Tarai issues among other major issues. <br><br>He opined for holding local bodies' election with the consensus of all political parties adding that the date for the same might be appropriate by Mid-April 2017.<br><br></p>

NEW BUDGET TO BE TABLED ON SATURDAY

<p>The Government is all set to table the budget for the fiscal year 2073/74 BS in parliament on coming Saturday. &nbsp;<br><br>Speaker Onsari Gharti allocated the time at 4:00 pm on Saturday for this purpose after the Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel sought permission from her for the same in today's parliament meeting. Similarly, speaker Gharti ordered lawmakers to be present in the parliament before 3:45 pm on the same date.&nbsp; As per the provision of the new constitution, the government should present the budget on Jestha 15 each year.<br><br>MEANWHILE, <br><br>Four different reports have been presented in the meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today.<br><br>President of the Finance Committee Prakash Jwala presented the report related to the 'Deposit and Loan Guarantee Fund Bill, 2072' and the report on the 'Bill on Banks and Financial Institutions, 2072'. <br><br>Similarly, president of the Women, Children, Senior Citizens and Social Welfare Committee, Ranju Kumari Jha, tabled the report of the committee on the Education (Eighth Amendment) Bill, 2072 while the Good Governance and Monitoring Committee president Mohan Singh Rathour tabled the report of the committee on Public Procurement (First Amendment) Bill, 2072.</p><p>Likewise, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel presented the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2072/73 in the parliament meeting today. The Economic Survey incorporates the financial situation of the public corporations and the ministry-wise progress report. The Legislature-Parliament will next meet at 2 pm on May 27.<br></p>

LAWMAKERS DRAW GOVERNMENT’S ATTENTION ON NUMBER OF ISSUES

<p>Lawmakers speaking during the Zero Hour of the today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament drew the government's attention on national as well as local problems. <br><br>They mentioned problems as increasing cases of violence against women in recent days and alleged that the government has not taken action against the perpetrators of such offences as rape and women harassment. <br><br>The lawmakers showed their concern over the increasing commercialization of education sector and the involvement of unscrupulous people in it, even blaming the government employees for inviting aberrations in the sector. <br><br>They also lashed out at the government over the earthquake victims not getting the relief and the government bodies' disinterest towards that end. They also alleged of partiality in the distribution of the relief to the earthquake victims.<br><br>Before the start of the Zero Hour, lawmaker Jangi Lal Raya announced that the lawmakers belonging to the Federal Alliance and other Madhes-centric parties that are in agitation, were boycotting the Parliament meeting today as the government neglected the demands raised by the Madhes-centric, indigenous peoples, nationalities and minorities.<br><br></p>

JOURNALISTS DEMAND ACTION AGAINST SEN’S MURDERERS

<p>Journalists have urged the government to take action against those involved in the murder of progressive journalist Krishna Sen Ichchhuk who was killed 14 years ago. <br><br>Speaking on the 14th memorial day of the journalist Sen, in the capital today, the speakers demanded action against the culprits, expressing dissatisfaction as no action was taken so far against the culprits.&nbsp; His spouse, Takma KC, stressed on materializing Sen's dream and idealism as he scarified his life for the same. &nbsp;<br><br>Similarly, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) President Dr Mahendra Bista said that Ichhuk was the mainstream journalist rather than of any one side. He added that he was not murdered in action during the conflict period as he was killed taking him under control. <br><br></p>

<p>१४ जेठ, मन्थली ।<br>रामेछापको पुरानो सदरमुकाम रामेछापडाँडादेखि हिमगङ्गा गाविसतर्फ जाँदै गरेको बिपी यातायातको ना१ज ४१६१ नंको टाटासुमो गाडी हिजो रामेछाप नगरपालिका–१ ओख्रेनीमा दुर्घटना हुँदा ५ जनाको मृत्यु भएको छ भने छ जना घाइते भएका छन् ।<br><br>मृतकको सनाखत हुन नसकेको प्रहरी निरीक्षक मख्खन यादवले घटनास्थलबाट जानकारी दिनुभयो । सो टाटासुमो सडकबाट ३०० मि तल खसेको थियो । <br><br>घाइतेलाई उपचारका लागि जिल्ला अस्पताल रामेछाप पु¥याइएको छ । शव घटनास्थलमै रहेको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालयले जनाएको छ ।<br></p>
