<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">At least 50 people were killed and over 400 others wounded in a mass shooting at a concert Sunday night outside of the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas in the U.S. state of Nevada.&nbsp;</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>The death toll if confirmed would make the mass shooting the deadliest in U.S. history and surpass the 49 killed at an Orlando nightclub last year.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Las Vegas Metropolis Police Department (LVMDP) published the latest casualty number at a news briefing to media early Monday morning.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The shooter opened fire from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay hotel and was killed by the police later, said Joseph Lombardo, sheriff of LVMDP.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Investigators identified the shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, as local resident and did not find any links to terrorism, Lombardo said, adding that he had "numerous firearms" in the hotel room.&nbsp;</p><p>The police also said they were hunting an Asian female named Marylou Danley, adding that they have located the suspected vehicles and the person of interest.</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">A person died and around 12 people were taken ill due to diarrhoea at Simigaun of Gaurishankar rural municipality-9 in Dolakha district yesterday.</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>Seventy nine-year-old Tenji Sherpa of Simi Gaun in the district lost his life to diarrhoea while 12 others have been suffering from it among whom three were in a critical condition, according to Mingma Nuri Sherpa, a local.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>A team of healthcare providers have been dispatched with necessary medicines to the village, said Chief District Officer in Dolakha, Laxman Bikram Thapa.</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">The District Administration Office, Bardia, has imposed an indefinite curfew at Lalpur in Gulariya Municipality-11 in Bardia district and the sensitive areas in its vicinity effective from 10:00 today morning.</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>The curfew was clamped in the wake of a clash that ensued after a dispute erupted between the locals and those going to immerse an idol at Lalpur last evening.</p><p><br></p><p>The congestion due to narrow space in road became the bone of contention and led to a clash where five people were injured. Police had used tear gas and opened fire in the air to disperse the mob and contain the situation.</p><p><br></p><p>Efforts were underway to bring to both parties to consensus, said CDO Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said.</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">The World Bank is to provide a loan assistance of approximately Rs 6 billion for the implementation of second phase of the Vocational Education and Training Project.&nbsp;</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>The bank approved the loan today which it is providing with the aim of promoting just access to technical education and vocational training through the improvement of these sectors in Nepal.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The World Bank has expressed the belief that the training would become a means of linking the labour market and the Nepali youths aspiring for abroad employment in the context of the entry of 450 thousand youths annually in the labour market in Nepal and most of them lacking high skills and education.&nbsp;</p><p>Most of the youths entering the labour market go on foreign employment.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>&nbsp;</p><p>The loan assistance would be fruitful for Nepal in ending unemployment and informal employment as well as in promoting skill-based education, the World Bank stated in a press release today.&nbsp;</p>
