<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expanded his cabinet by inducting four Ministers and four State Ministers from Rastriya Prajatantra Party today.</span><br></p><p>RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister while leaders Jayant Chand, Dilanath Giri and Bikram Thapa have been appointed Ministers without portfolio in PM Deuba-led government.</p><p>Similarly, RPP Chief Whip Kunti Kumari Shahi, Bhaskar Bhadra, Sushil Shrestha and Kanta Bhattrai have been appointed as State Ministers today.</p><div><br></div>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">Top leaders of the major parties represented in the Legislature-Parliament have committed to abide by in letter and spirit the code of conduct of the election to the members of the House of Representatives and the State Assemblies scheduled for November 26 and December 7.&nbsp;</span><br></p><p>They expressed this commitment in the discussions the Election Commission organized with the political parties regarding the abidance to the code of conduct in connection with the elections.&nbsp;</p><p>The commitment letter reads – taking into account the fact that the election is the foundation of democracy and that only a free, fair and credible election strengthened and supported good governance, we are committed to make the election to the members of the House of Representatives and State Assemblies taking place on November 26 and December 7 well-managed and dignified.&nbsp;</p><p>Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (UML) chairman KP Sharma Oli, CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and other top leaders of various parties signed the letter of commitment.&nbsp;</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">The Legislature-Parliament meeting has endorsed the report of a parliamentary special committee on second constituent assembly election study, investigation and recommendation.&nbsp;</span><br></p><p>Committee chairman Laxman Lal Karna, presenting the report at the meeting, said the report has suggested the government to adopt proper electoral system to make the future elections free and fair. The recommendations are made based on the study of parliamentary system of various countries across the globe.&nbsp;</p><p>The committee was formed on June 13, 2014 after the demand of the Maoist Centre and Madhes centric political parties. The second election of the Constituent Assembly was held on November 19, 2013.</p><p><br></p><p>The term of the committee was extended for twice.&nbsp;</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">Top leaders of the major political parties have remained divided over the contents of the Bill on National Medical Education that is under consideration in the Parliament.&nbsp;</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>At a meeting arranged by Speaker Onsari Ghartimagar prior to today's House meeting, the bill was not included in the business of the House meeting after the parties' failure to reach a conclusion.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The bill is sure to be deserted as the tenure of the House is expiring in two days and the formal meeting of the Legislature-Parliament is most likely to end by today itself.&nbsp;</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">A meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to allocate the responsibility of deciding the purchasing price of &nbsp;the detailed project report (DPR) of Nijgadh-Kathmandu fast track project prepared by Indian Company IL&amp;FS to the Directive Committee after studying &nbsp;the report's utility.&nbsp;</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>The construction of much-awaited Kathmandu-Tarai (Madhes) Fast Track Road Project was handed to the Nepalese Army through the Cabinet decision on May 4, 2017. The deadline for completing the project is four years from that time.</p><p><br></p><p>The NA has formed a high level project implementation directive committee under the convenorship of NA lieutenant general Purna Chandra Thapa where representatives of Ministries of Finance; and Physical Infrastructure and Transport are the members.</p><p><br></p><p>Minister for Finance Gyanendra Bahadur Karki shared that the Cabinet meeting decided to allocate the responsibility of fixing price of the DPR to the committee. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Prime Minister Deuba recently instructed the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Chief Secretary, Army Chief and the authorities concerned to take a final decision regarding fast track's DPR and speed up the construction.&nbsp;</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has instructed the Nepal Police to get ready for management of security arrangements for the nearing elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies. &nbsp;The twin elections have been slated for November 26 and December 7 in two rounds. &nbsp;</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>In his address to a special programme organised at the Nepal Police headquarters today, marking the 62nd police day today, the prime minister applauded the Nepal Police for its role in making the recent local level elections successful. He hoped the same sort of support and cooperation from it in the upcoming polls also.</p><p>He took the time to direct the police administration to be more active to keep the society safe through the closeness between the police and civic. &nbsp; 
</p><p>Also speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Janardan Sharma said the government is preparing to announce further relief packages for the families of those attaining martyrdom and left injured in the line of duty.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>As shared by the Home Minister on the occasion, he had brought an 84-point road map for the reform in home administration by depoliticising it and works were going on accordingly. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>
