<p>Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has made it clear that the decision to announce nationwide public holiday on the day of the arrival of the Heads of State from India and China in Nepal for the visit was made with the suggestions from various party leaders and security agencies among others. <br><br>At a meeting with a joint delegation of student unions affiliated to various political parties at his office in Singha Durbar, PM Dahal said the Cabinet meeting held took a decision to this effect. <br><br>The delegation met with PM Dahal also to draw his attention on the impeachment motion registered at Parliament against Chief of the Commission of the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Lokman Singh Karki.</p><p>Admitting that he was impressed by the unity among the students, the PM expressed his solidarity with them for forwarding the impeachment motion against Karki by forging a common view among other political parties. <br><br></p>

<p>Former Prime Minister and Naya Shakti Nepal Coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said the Silk Road would benefit each country in Asia while becoming a 'pride' of the region. </p><p>Addressing the Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo underway in Guangzhou in China today, Dr Bhattarai said China's One Belt One Road initiative would help connect Asian countries. <br>Aside from the initiatives, the Maritime Silk Road would help and facilitate to connect Asia with the remaining world, he said. <br><br>According to him, it would be wise to adopt the policy to make the best use of China's capital and expertise for the massive infrastructure development and expedite economic prosperity of Nepal.<br><br><br></p>

<p>A Bulgarian national has been arrested in accusation of withdrawing money from savings account of different individuals by using fake ATM cards.</p><p>The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) yesterday detained Dimo Atanasov Stefanov, who is 38 years of age, in connection to incidents of card skimming from Thamel. <br><br>Stefanov had been involved in theft through use of a clever trick. He had been planting undetectable small size cameras at the ATM booths and then recording the pin code numbers used by the customers and later using the pin code to withdraw money, CIB Chief, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Navaraj Silwal said.<br><br>The police recovered 28 fake ATM cards and USD 17,000 from the Bulgarian. The police started searching for him after he withdrew money from the bank customers by using Nepal Investment Bank Ltd (NIBL) ATM card NIBL Deputy Director, Bijendra Suwal, said the bank informed the police after complaints from the customers that they were receiving SMS on money withdrawal from their savings account. <br><br><br></p>

<p>An outbreak of diarrhoea at a dalit settlement at Dhabauli in Jaleshwar Municipality-13 has affected the life of the people in the settlement.&nbsp; </p><p>One person has died and 52 others have been affected by diarrhoea at Dhabauli, said the District Public Health Office sources.</p><p>The deceased is a two-year old daughter of Shrawan Sada at the settlement. &nbsp;<br><br><br></p>

<p>Nepali Congress general secretary Dr Shashank Koirala has said the constitution amendment is the need of the hour as the people aspire for the same.</p><p>Speaking at a press meet in Janakpur today, the NC general secretary said though Nepal's constitution falls into the category of one of the best constitutions in the world, it needs revisions to gain wider acceptability.</p><p>In his response to journalists' query, he said the impeachment motion against CIAA Chief Lokman Singh Karki has somehow affected the national agenda, the decision of impeaching him was not a conspiracy to relegate such agenda to a back burner. <br><br><br></p>

<p>The Supreme Court has decided to carry out hearings on habeas corpus cases during the Tihar vacation as well. <br><br>The Court will open on other days except Saturday and the day of Bhai Tika during this period, it is stated.<br><br>The SC has assigned Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla for the same.&nbsp; <br></p>

<p>President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that the attachment of traditional culture, practices and values developed in a particular place has created complexity to shift any settlement to a new place.<br><br>Addressing a programme organised to hand over an integrated settlement constructed by the Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation&nbsp; at Giranchaur-8 of Sindhupalchowk district today, President Bhandari&nbsp; said that such historical attachment of&nbsp; the particular place connects the people creating difficulties to shift them to a planned place. <br><br>On the occasion, President Bhandari urged the locals to be self-dependent rather developing dependency on others. &nbsp;<br><br>She opined that the integrated settlement could be developed at any of the quake-hit mountainous districts but lack of infrastructure for the purpose has created difficulties. &nbsp;<br><br>The President stressed on expediting reconstruction works at the quake-hit areas with a high priority.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>Similarly, Minister for Industry, Nabindraraj Joshi said that the integrated settlement is a role model to all, adding that the government could learn more from it.&nbsp;&nbsp; <br><br></p>

<p>Butwal, Oct 28: Nepali Congress leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has said his party would stand up as a judge in the decision over the impeachment proposal against Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) chief Lokman Singh Karki. <br><br>He said Congress would vote with a decision based on facts and truth over impeachment motion tabled in the parliament. <br><br>The Congress – Maoist government was formed for resolving the Madhes issue and amend the constitution, Mahat pointed out while at the same time accusing Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of bypassing Congress and taking unilateral decision. <br><br><br></p>
