Japan shows interest to be strategic partner in Nepal’s telecommunications

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Masashi Ogawa, has informed Minister for Information and Communications, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, that Japan is interested and even ready to be Nepal's strategic partner on its development and expansion of telecommunications sector. </span><br></p><p><br></p><p>Minister Basnet informed that during the meeting Ambassador had with him today, various issues as Nepal-India relations, mutual help and cooperation were discussed. </p><p><br></p><p>On the occasion, Minister Basnet responded that Nepal could see it laws and rules before giving final decision on Japan's interest come at a time when several places are still deprived of telephone in Nepal. Discussion to this would be held with the stakeholders, the Minister added. </p>
