<p>The CPN (UML) aligned Nepal Civil Servants Employees Association has emerged as the victor in the Civil Servants' Trade Union election held yesterday. <br><br>Chief Election Officer, Gita Prasad Timalsena, said the Association secured 44.39 per cent or 21,127 votes to win the election. <br><br>Nepali Congress (NC) aligned Nepal Civil Servants Employees Union obtained 34.16 per cent or 16, 259 votes to secure the second spot while CPN Maoist Centre's wing Nepal National Civil Servants Employees Association garnered 10.57 per cent or 5,027 votes. <br><br>The Madhes-centric parties' Nepal Madhesi Civil Servants Employees Forum garnered 7.48 per cent or 3,561 votes. <br><br>Of the total 55, 329 voters, 88.73 per cent or 49,095 voters cast their votes, Timalsena said, adding 1, 501 votes of the total became invalid.<br></p>

<p>Rural Tourism Workshop at South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) level has kicked off in the Capital today. <br><br>Organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and the SAARC Secretariat, the workshop aims at exchanging experiences made by each SAARC member country in promoting rural tourism and consolidating mutual relations between the member countries.</p><p>Meanwhile, inaugurating the meeting, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Prasad Pokharel said that the key basis for the promotion of rural tourism is home stay facility offered in rural villages of the region.<br><br>The workshop was attended by two representatives of each from SAARC countries including Nepal, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.<br><br></p>

<p>CPN Maoist Centre has formed the largest General Convention Organizing Committee till date. <br><br>The Politburo meeting held at the party's central office at Parisdanda today formed a jumbo committee of 1,099 members. The meeting nominated 999 members while the remaining 100 will be added to the list in the coming days, Maoist Centre said. <br><br>The party has reserved the seats for 100 members with plan to fill it after a merger with Netra Bikran Chand led CPN Maoist and from a huge portion of the Naya Shakti Campaign. <br><br>The meeting has also formed 85-member Standing Committee and 255-member Politburo, said Spokesperson, Pampha Bhusal. <br><br><b>CENTRE CHAIRMAN PRACHANDA</b><br><br>CPN Maoist centre Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal has said revolution is not possible only from revolutionary communists but it needs a wide participation of general public.<br>At a cadres training program in Kathmandu today, he said this decade could be a decade of revolution. The chairman further said the unification process is meant for coping with the challenges coming ahead of the nation and for safeguarding the achievements gained so far.<br><br>Chairman Dahal further said the unification among the Maoist parties has instilled hopes to general public, families of the martyrs and disappeared ones and injured fighters. <br><br></p>

<p>Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has clarified that he will not leave the post due to the pressure exerting for the same.<br><br>He added that some forces were threatening and exerting pressure to leave the post but he will not resign adding that his nature does not permit him for the same.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>Addressing a two-day public dialogue programme organized in Kathmandu today, PM Oli said that he did not have any excessive desire to remain on the chair.<br><br>&nbsp;He said if he gets concrete remedies and roadmaps to resolve all the current problems, he will not have any desire for reaming to post. <br><br>PM Oli added that he did not have any avarice for property therefore he will work on the behalf of the nation for 24 hours till he remains to the post. &nbsp;<br><br>He recalled that he was elected to the post during a tough time when the country was facing post quake trauma, border blockade and Tarai agitation adding that he made his best efforts to overcome these problems and gradually acquired success over the problems. <br><br>Prime Minister Oli added that holding any post is just temporary therefore performing on the behalf of the nation and people will have permanent meanings. &nbsp;<br><br>PM Oli urged the agitating parties not to perform circus in the name of protest urging them for talks if they have any genuine issues to be resolved. &nbsp;<br><br>PM Oli said 'allocation' etymologically means to distribute therefore, he ordered to distribute the budget rather allocation. <br><br>PM Oli termed the previous governments as the scarecrow claiming that they failed to invest on social welfare sector. <br><br>He said that the elderly citizens had contributed a lot for the nation therefore their allowance was increased. <br>]<br><br></p>

<p>The deliberation on the annual estimate over the Revenue and Expenditure of Fiscal Year 2073/ 74 BS has continued at the Legislature-Parliament session today. <br><br>Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, expressed reservation over the budget citing absence of priorities and added it was inclined to increase inflation and cause pain than relief to the people. <br><br>Commenting on the budget, CPN (UML) lawmaker, Gokarna Bista, claimed the budget presented by the government for the upcoming fiscal year as practical and influential although some dislike it. <br><br>Mr. Bista said that focus on energy sector, infrastructure development, Kathmandu-Tarai Madhes fast track and north-south corridor instilled hopes among the people. <br>Janardhan Sharma from CPN Maoist Centre complained the budget which is positive in its structure did not talk of relief to those injured in the armed insurgency and people's uprising. <br><br>On the occasion, RPP Nepal's Vaskar Bhadra called for result-based implementation of the budget.<br><br>Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal (Democratic) lawmaker, Subodh Kumar Pokharel, commended the government for prioritizing the Budhi Gandaki Hydro Power Project. <br><br>RPP's Sunil Thapa spoke of the continuity of the government's incapacity to spend and appealed for presenting a base to control the likelihood of inflation. <br><br><br></p>

<p>Concerned stakeholders have pressed for endorsement of the Social Security Bill which has been tabled at the Legislature-Parliament. <br><br>At the meeting of the International Relations and Labour Committee under the Legislature-Parliament today, participants in discussion with lawmakers, experts, workers and industrialists called for embedding separate provisions in the Act for workers involved in organized sectors and individuals in unorganized sectors as well. <br><br>The industrialists who were invited at the meeting demanded introduction of security fund and Labour Act simultaneously. <br><br>The representatives of the workers' organizations said the Act must focus entirely on the workers and called for separate Social Security Act for others. <br><br></p>

<p>Nepal Workers Peasants Party chair Narayan Man Bijukchhe has said that the people are not willing for the news of government change. <br><br>Talking to journalists at his own residence today, leader Bijukchhe added that it is not a right time to change the government. &nbsp;<br><br>He opined for strengthening the incumbent government urging Nepali Congress and Tarai centric parties to join the government.&nbsp; He claimed that the Indian agents are active in government changing game.</p><p>Leader Bijukchhe urged the government to endorse the bill related to local bodies' election soon to hold their election in stipulated time. <br><br></p>
