<p>The government has approved the upcoming China visit of Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun. <br><br>Today's meeting of the Council of Ministers approved the China visit of Vice-President Pun scheduled from June 10-16. This is the first foreign visit of Vice-President Pun after his election to the post. <br><br>Minister for Industry, Som Prasad Pandey told media persons that the meeting has also transferred two secretaries.</p><p>It has also decided to provide Rs 1.656 million for the treatment of Sindhu Upreti of Bhadrapur. Upreti, injured in course of people's movement in 2062/63 BS, is undergoing treatment in Thailand. <br><br>Minister Pandey said that the meeting decided to send the Money Laundering Regulations-2073 BS at the Legislation Committee of the Parliament for the discussion. <br><br></p>

<p>Chairperson of Parliamentary Development Committee Rabindra Adhikari has said that Member of Parliament representing any party would not be spared if they are found to have misused the constituency development programme budget. <br><br>Speaking at the meeting of the committee today Chairperson Adhikari warned of recommending for action if anyone was found to have worked with an intention to misuse the budget. <br><br>At the meeting, a report of the onsite inspection and study of projects run under the constituency infrastructure development programme was presented.</p><p>According to the study carried out by the Good Governance Federation Nepal in Sunsari, Kaski and Sindhupalchowk districts, very few projects were found to have been completed fulfilling all the set conditions. <br><br></p>

<p>Leaders of various political parties have stressed the need of unity among the political parties for the effective implementation of the new constitution. <br><br>At an interaction organized at Reporters' Club in the capital city today, Nepali Congress leader Dr Minendra Rijal said Nepali Congress, would play leading role for the effective implementation of the constitution. <br><br>He also accused the government of slowing down the reconstruction activities. <br><br>On the occasion, UML leader Pradip Gyawali said it has been quite late for the political parties to delineate provincial units, hold local body election and formulate laws as per the changed constitutional set up. <br><br>He argued that NC, a responsible party, must not be the obstruction to holding the parliamentary hearing on appointment of judges at a time when the cases have piled up in the Supreme Court. <br><br>Leader Gyawali further claimed that until the atmosphere was created for the national consensus government, the present government would continue till Magh 2074BS.<br><br>Co-Chairman of Nepal Sadbhavana Party, Laxman Lal Karna, said they were ready to sit for a dialogue once the atmosphere was made conducive. He blamed the government of focusing on the appointments of judges while ignoring the implementation of the constitution. <br><br><br></p>

<p>Minister for Labour and Employment Deepak Bohara has addressed the 105th International Labour Conference in Geneva, yesterday. He highlighted the provisions related to labour sector incorporated in the new constitution. <br><br>In the ongoing annual conference of the International Labor Organization (ILO) that kicked off on 30 May, Minister Bohara reaffirmed the government's priority in ensuring safety and security for the Nepali migrant workers abroad, according to the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. <br><br>During the address, Minister Bohara shared that Nepal will be taking part in the upcoming election of the ILO Governing Body for membership from the government category, for which he also called for support from the international community, reads the press statement released by the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in Geneva. <br><br>Meanwhile, Minister Bohara delivered an address at the meeting of the Non-aligned movement Labour Ministers in the sideline of the conference yesteday. <br><br>Holding separate bilateral meetings with the Labour Ministers from Mauritius and Portugal on June 6 and 7, he urged his Mauritian and Portuguese counterparts for their initiation in exploring potential areas of employment for the Nepali work force in their respective countries. <br><br>Similarly, in another meeting with the Deputy Labour Minister of Saudi Arabia, Minister Bohara spoke of the need to expedite the singing of MoU between Nepal and Saudi Arabia on labour agreement.<br><br><br></p>

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has today sent an appeal to the international community for bringing investment in Nepal as the country has set foot on an investment-friendly environment with the promulgation of the new constitution. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><p><br>PM Oli made such an appeal during a meeting with the representatives of the foreign donor agencies at his office in Singha Durbar. <br><br>The UK Foreign Ministry's Secretary, Sir Simon Macdonald, and Department for International Development (DFID) Secretary, Mark Lowcock, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office representatives met separately with the PM. <br><br>The PM and British secretaries held talks on further consolidating the mutual relations between the two countries coinciding with the occasion of the bicentenary of establishment of diplomatic ties. <br><br>The British secretaries also inquired about the implementation phase of Nepal's Constitution whereas OHCHR representative broached the subject of Bhutanese refugees and Nepal's economic stride forward. <br><br>The PM urged the British secretaries to have no qualms over investing in Nepal as an investment-friendly environment has been established, PM's Foreign Affairs Advisor, Gopal Khanal, told the journalists.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>The British secretaries expressed their happiness at seeing Nepal embark on a path of economic progress after the promulgation of the new constitution, and held comprehensive talks on ways to draw British investment in bigger projects in particular and secure such investments. <br>DFID Secretary, Mark Lowcock, said that cordial talks were held with the PM on Nepal's modern development and bilateral support. <br><br>The UNHCR delegation focused on playing crucial role on resolving the problems faced by the Bhutanese refugees and Nepal's economic development. <br><br>In a briefing to journalists following the meeting, UNHCR representative, Craig Sanders, said that talks were held on Nepal's contemporary situation and Bhutanese refugees. <br><br></p>

<p>Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has blamed the Prime Minister of moving ahead after showing false dream among people rather than taking the country towards the path of development.<br><br>Speaking at a programme organised today to honour Mt Everest climbers in the capital today, he said, local, provincial and central bodies' election should be held after implementing the new constitution.</p><p>Also the former Prime Minister, Mr. Deuba blamed that the incumbent government tried to misuse tax collected from the people and foreign donation received in the name of quake survivors distributing it through NGOs.<br><br>Similarly, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel expressed sadness over the incumbent government's preparation to hold representative assembly election rather than implementing the new constitution.<br><br>He said that such activity would push the country towards uncertainty and clarified that it was necessary to review the government's activities by holding NC central committee meeting.<br><br><br></p>
