Dr KC breaks hunger strike

<p>Prof Dr Govinda KC, who had been staging fast-unto-death at Teaching Hospital demanding reforms in medical education and health sector, broke his hunger strike after signing a 12-point agreement with the government today. <br><br>It was Dr KC's 10th round of hunger strike and the longest one- 22 days. Dr KC broke the fast-unto-death after taking a glass of juice from two and half years old Marsang Tamang of Sindhupalchok, in presence of media persons and well wishers. <br><br>Talking to media persons after breaking the hunger strike, Dr KC said that he was struggling for reforms in overall medical education sector and health service. <br><br>He said, it is because of the political influence, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University has not resigned. However, agreement has been made to carry out investigation over his capacity. I would struggle again if investigation was not carried out. <br><br>The senior orthopedic surgeon, however, said it was not good to continue the hunger strike at a time when the country has begun witnessing agitations in several places owing to constitution amendment bill. <br><br>Arguing TU Vice-Chancellor have to tender his resignation at any cost, Dr KC clarified that he would continue his struggle until the implementation of the agreement. <br><br></p>
