45 MW to be added to the central transmission line

<p>The national grid is to get an additional 45 MW in the next 18 months.<br><br>Of it, 25 MW is to be received from the Madi A hydropower project, which will start production from next month.</p><p>Likewise, 6 MW will be added from the Daraundi project, according to Energy Secretary Anup Kumar Upadhyay.<br><br>Similarly, 14.9 MW will be added from the Hewa Khola hydel project. The project has already started its test production.</p><p>The 50 MW Upper Marsyangdi A project is also currently in the phase of test production.</p><p>It is producing 25 MW at the moment and will add 25 MW more after the technical preparation is completed. The project is a joint Nepal-China initiative.<br><br>The contribution of the private sector to the central transmission line of Nepal Electricity Authority is 784 MW from a total of 53 hydropower projects to date.<br></p>
