Flood sweep away seven shops, 15 at high risk

<p>Seven shops were swept away by flood at Chainpur, the district headquarters of Bajhang, on last evening.</p><p>The floods on Bauli rivulet swept away seven shops and a suspension bridge, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Bajhang, Narendra Chand.</p><p>Chand further said that more than 15 shops are still at high risk of flood. The connection between the district headquarter and villages have been cut off after the flood swept away the bridge linking more than 30 VDCs with the district headquarters, said police.</p><p><b>SIMILARLY, <br></b><p>The flood on Tamor River has swept away an under construction motorable bridge at Dovan in Taplejung district early this morning.</p><p>According to the Area Police Office, Dovan, the floods swept away the under construction bridge at 2:00 am. Chief District Officer, Chakrapani Pandey, said that property worth around Rs 100 million was damaged after the flood swept away the bridge.</p><p>Although the agreement regarding the construction of the bridge was signed six years ago, it was started only one year ago.<br></p></p>
