<p>The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Dinesh Shrestha, a sub-engineer at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3 while taking bribe.</p><p>A team of CIAA nabbed Shrestha red-handed from a restaurant at Maharajgunj in the capital city while receiving Rs 300,000 from a service-seeker promising him a certificate of completion of house construction, according to CIAA Spokesperson Ganeshraj Karki. <br><br><br><br><br></p>

<p>The schedule of transfers of civil servants this year has been delayed due to government change. <br><br>The Ministry of General Administration is entitled to carry out the transfers of civil servants. But this year, the transfer schedule was delayed as the respective minister after the formation of the new government has not been appointed yet, Ministry's Joint Secretary Ishwar Raj Poudel said.</p><p>As per the Ministry calendar, the transfer should be carried out within mid-August. <br><br>In the current fiscal year, 2,764 civil servants have applied for the transfer. <br><br><br><br></p>

<p>Nepali national football league winner Three Star Club (TSC) defeated the Erchim football club of Mongolia by 2-0 in the first leg of the qualifying match for the AFC cup football tournament.<br><br>In the match held earlier today in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, Nigerian recruit for TSC Martins Kayode scored the first goal in the 13th minute while Bikram Lama made it 2-0 to seal a win for his team in the 75th minute of the match.<br><br>The TSC will now play the Nagaworld football club of Cambodia on Tuesday. The play-off phase has been divided into three groups, with the group winner going to the second round. TSC representing Nepal is in Group 'b'. <br><br><br><br></p>

<p>Nepali Congress leaders have stressed that the services and amenities given from existing VDCs and Municipalities should not be reduced while restructuring the local bodies. &nbsp;<br><br>In an interaction organized by the working committee of the party today to solicit suggestion for the fixation of the number and borders of the Municipalities and village municipalities, special preserved zones and autonomous zones, party president Sher Bahadur Deuba urged to concentrate on the practical difficulties while restructuring the local bodies to make it less in numbers. <br><br>He stressed on the practicality of merging the VDCs in village Municipality adding that it might not be practical in hilly and mountainous belts while developing a village municipality comprising VDCs.</p><p>Similarly, senior leader Ramchandra Poudel&nbsp; opined for holding consultations with other parties in this regard and that the issues should be resolved within a week. He said that the national treasury might be misused while restructuring the local bodies if the service centres were developed haphazardly. <br><br>Likewise, party leader Prakash Man Singh stressed on not reducing the services and facilities adding the local bodies' restructuring process might be changed if the borders of federal units were changed while addressing the Tarai issues through political ways. <br><br>On the occasion, leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula opined for holding local bodies' election on the basis of existing local bodies. </p><p>Similarly, party Treasurer Sitadevi Yadav, leader Gopal Man Shrestha, Kathmandu party President Sabuj Baniya stressed on holding local bodies election by Mid-April after fixing the demarcation work of local bodies. &nbsp;<br><br><br></p>

<p>The proposal adding members to various committees in the parliament was approved by the meeting today of the Legislature-Parliament.<br><br>Accordingly, KP Sharma Oli and Bhim Bahadur Rawal have been included in the International Relations and Labour Committee, Kunti Kumari Shahi to the Legislation Committee, Dip Narayan Shah, Nardevi Pun and Damodar Bhandari to the Finance Committee, Shanta Manawi to the Development Committee, Satya Narayan Mandal to the Environment Committee, Bishnu Prasad Poudel to the Finance Committee and Ram Kumar Subba to the State Affairs Committee. <br><br>The proposal was tabled before the house by Speaker Onsari Gharti.<br><br></p>

<p>The Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N) is set to organise the International Sanatan Dharma Sabha in Kathmandu from November 12-14. <br><br>The event aims at awakening Hindu religion and religious Gurus and representatives from Hindu organisations including from international level will participate, said RPP-N's spokesperson Rajaram Shrestha. <br><br>The Dharma Sabha Organising Committee will be led by RPP-N Chairman Kamal Thapa and its members include the party central office bearers, members of the working committee, zonal coordinators, Kathmandu district chairman and chiefs of party's sister organisations. <br><br>Meanwhile, as part of a campaign to pressurise the government to organise local body elections in time, a door-to-door campaign will be held and a 'Rastriya Sankalpa Drive' will be launched, Shrestha said. <br></p>
