मतदाता शिक्षा प्रभावकारी बनाउन प्रधानमन्त्रीको आग्रह
<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">काठमाडौं । प्रधानमन्त्री शेरबहादुर देउवाले दुई चरणमा हुने प्रतिनिधिसभा र प्रदेशसभा निर्वाचनमा बढीभन्दा बढी सहभागिता हुनेगरी मतदाता शिक्षालाई प्रभावकारी बनाउन निर्वाचन आयोगलाई आग्रह गर्नुभएको छ । </span><br></p><p><br></p><p>प्रधानमन्त्री निवासमा आज निर्वाचन आयोगका पदाधिकारीससँगको भेटमा प्रधानमन्त्रीले मताधिकार लोकतन्त्रमा सबैभन्दा महत्वपूर्ण विषय भएकाले अधिकतम मत खस्ने र न्यून बदर हुने गरी व्यवस्थापन गर्न आग्रह गर्नुभयोे ।</p><p><br></p><p>प्रधानमन्त्रीले निर्वाचनका लागि सरकारका तर्फबाट आवश्यक सबै सहयोग २४ सै घण्टा उपलब्ध गराउन आफू तयार रहेको बताउनुभयो । </p><p><br></p><p>त्यस अवसरमा प्रमुख निर्वाचन आयुक्त डा. अयोधीप्रसाद यादवले निर्वाचनमा प्रधानमन्त्रीको शुरुदेखिको प्रतिबद्धताले आयोगलाई काम गर्न हौसला मिलेको बताउनुभयो । </p>
Three held with three kgs of hashish
Police held three people along with 3.2 kilogramms of hashish today from Attariya Bazar of Godawari Municipality -1 in Kailali.
Locals Sareshram BK, Ganesh Bhattarai and Yagya Bahadur Singh have been arrested by a squad from the Narcotics Control Bureau branch office, Bhimduttangar, the Bureau said.
They have been handed to the District Police Office Kailali for further investigations into the case.
Construction of telecom infrastructure services allowed
<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">The government has allowed the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) for the construction of telecommunications infrastructure services to make the telecommunications services accessible and reliable. </span><br></p><p><br></p><p>The NTA, in line with the Telecommunications Infrastructure Regulations-2074 BS prepared by the government, is for the first time establishing two infrastructure services providing companies. </p><p><br></p><p>NEA spokesperson Meen Prasad Aryal said there will be no duplication in infrastructure, telecommunications services would become less costly and there would be positive impact on environment protection efforts once such companies are established.</p>
Nepal stresses on apt policy to mitigate impact of global warming
<p><br></p><p><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Nepal's permanent representative for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Ambika Luitel has spoken of the need to implement appropriate programmes for mitigating the adverse effects of global warming on Nepal's Himalayas. </p><p><br></p><p>Addressing the 39th general meeting of UNESCO in Paris, the capital of France, on Thursday, she stressed on adopting measures to prevent global warming.</p><p><br></p><p>Heads of State or of governments and ministers from UNESCO's 195 member nations are taking part in the general assembly that began from Monday, the Embassy of Nepal, Paris stated in a press release today.</p>
Election should be conducted as big celebration: Vice President Pun
<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said that the House of Representatives and the State Assembly elections should be concluded as grand celebration.</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>The Vice President said this while inaugurating the Nepal Poultry and Livestock International Exhibition, 2074 organized by the Nepal Poultry Federation here today.</p><p><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span></p><p>The Vice President expressed the belief that like the past elections, this election would also be concluded as a celebration, paving the way for the full implementation of the constitution.</p>
Kathmandu DAO urges people to submit legalised arms
<p>The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu has urged general people to compulsorily handover licensed arms (guns and pistols) registered in the individual's name to it during the election period.</p><p>The DAO has given the deadline till November 16 to submit such arms.</p><p>Also the illegal production of alcohol and alcoholic products and their sale have been completely prohibited during the elections, Chief district officer Kedarnath Sharma said in a press statement.</p>
NWPP chair Bijukchhe not to contest any election in future
Chairman of Nepal Workers and Peasants' Party ( NWPP), Narayanman Bijukchhe, has said he willnot compete in any election in the future.
Talking to the press in Bhaktapur , he said NWPP had handed the responsibility for operating the party to a youth generation.
Stating that the party is not the ethnicity-based party and people has equally trusted it when it made Bhairav Risal as the party election candidate in the past.
RPP to use ‘democracy with king’ in its election manifesto
<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">The ruling partner Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has said the party is going to include the constitutional monarchy in the form of 'change with continuity' in its manifesto.</span><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="line-height: 1.42857; white-space: pre;"> </span><br></p><p><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span></p><p>The party leaders and cadres have suggested that the party should state the principle of monarchy as its conceptual views in the election manifesto that is in the process of preparation.</p><p><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span></p><p>Likewise, the party has said that the election manifesto will prioritize the need for the State to provide special protection to the backward areas and marginalized classes and for the respect of individual freedom and right to property. </p>
EC focused on making elections exemplary: CEC Yadav
<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has said the Election Commission (EC) is working with a focus on its goal of making the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies exemplary in view of the managerial aspect. </span><br></p><p><br></p><p>Inaugurating an orientation programme relating to election for youths associated with political parties taking part in the elections, he said EC activities are focused on polling centres as management of electoral logistics and packing of ballot papers and its transport had already begun. </p><p><br></p><p>He urged political parties and candidates to fully abide by the election code of conduct with piety as they participated in the filing of candidacy. </p><p><br></p><p>EC joint secretary and spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal said the peaceful and systematic registration of candidacy for the upcoming elections yesterday has inspired one and all.</p><p><br></p><p>The EC has expressed commitment to make the voters' education programmes effective so as to increase voters' turnout and the number of valid votes in the upcoming two elections.</p>
Country will see prosperity after elections: Oli
<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">CPN (UML) chair KP Sharma Oli has said the country will find a path towards prosperity and the governance system will be as per the aspirations of people in the aftermath of elections in the country. </span><br></p><p><br></p><p>Speaking at a press meet in Damak today, he said prosperity and ruling system as per the interests of people will be established in the nation after the elections. </p><p><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span></p><p>He said the leftist alliance is unveiling the election manifesto on coming Monday. </p><p><br></p><p>The UML chair urged the Nepali Congress and other political parties to take part in the elections fairly, not to 'label' false charge against the alliance and not to abuse the power.</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">काठमाडौं । निर्वाचन आयोगले आगामी मंसिर १० र २१ गते हुने प्रतिनिधिसभा सदस्य तथा प्रदेशसभा सदस्य निर्वाचनका लागि समानुपातिक निर्वाचन प्रणालीतर्फ दलहरुले पेश गरेको बन्द सूची आज सार्वजनिक गरेको छ ।</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>समानुपातिक निर्वाचन प्रणालीतर्फका निर्वाचन अधिकृत एवं आयोगका सचिव बेगेन्द्रराज शर्मा पौड्यालले आज आयोगमा आयोजित पत्रकार सम्मेलनमा समानुपातिक निर्वाचनमा राजनीतिक दलहरूबाट जम्मा ६ हजार ९४ उम्मेदवारको बन्दसूची समावेश भएको प्रारम्भिक विवरण रहेको जानकारी दिनुभयो ।</p><p><br></p><p>निर्वाचन कार्यक्रम अनुसार यही कात्तिक १८ गतेदेखि कात्तिक २४ गतेसम्म बन्दसूचीमा नाम समावेश भएका उम्मेदवारको योग्यता सम्बन्धमा दाबी–विरोध गर्न निवेदन दिन सकिने, कात्तिक २५ देखि मङ्सिर १ गतेसम्म त्यस्ता दाबी विरोधका निवेदनमाथि जाँचबुझ र निर्णय गर्ने कार्यक्रम रहेको छ । </p><p><br></p><p>जाँचबूझ सकिएपछि बन्द सूचीबाट नाम हटेको सूचना प्रकाशित गरी आगामी मङ्सिर ३ गते उम्मेदवारको बन्दसूची अन्तिम रूपमा प्रकाशन गर्ने निर्वाचन आयोगले जनाएको छ ।</p>
