House discussing political parties bill

<p>The Parliament has approved the report of State Affairs Committee about the Bill on Political Parties.</p><p>The bill has imposed the threshold of three percent vote under the proportional representation and at least one seat under the First Past the Post system.<br><br>Minister for physical infrastructure and transpost Ramesh Lekhak tabled the bill for discussion in the parliament.</p><p>Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar called the second meeting of the House in a bid to endorse the report today itself.<br></p><p><br>The decision was&nbsp; passed by SAC this morning.<br><br>However, lawmakers of various fringe parties protested the decision to impose the threshold of three per cent vote under the Proportional Representation category and at least one seat under the First Past the Post system.</p><p>Fringe parties inclding CPN ML, Nepal workers and peasant party, Janamorcha among others protested the provision in the report.<br><br></p>
