Investment summit concludes

The two day's Nepal Investment Summit has concluded today with investors from various countries&nbsp; pledged to invest around 14 billion dollar.<br><p>Speaking to media persons at a press conference,&nbsp; Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi, said the summit proved to be immensely successful as investors are encouraged to invest in various mega projects in Nepal. </p><p>He further said the industry ministry will be in frequent touch with the investors to implement the commitment they made during the&nbsp; summit.<br>The mega event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Industry, the Investment Board Nepal and the National Planning Commission with the theme of 'Harnessing Investment Opportunities in Nepal. </p><p>Chief executive officer of the investment board Mahaprasad Adhikari said trustworthy environment will be created to take the pledged amount into implementation.<br>China is on the top in terms of pledged amount as investors from China submitted letters of intent worth $8.30 billion.</p><p>Investors from Bangladesh pledged projects of $2.40 billion.&nbsp; Japanese investors pledged 1 billion while British investors pledged for the equal amount. Likewise, Sri Lankan investors gave commitment for $ 0.50 billion and Indian pledged for $317 million. During the summit, Nepali businessmen pledged of investing 11.5 million.</p><p>Businessmen and investors from China, US, European countries, Australia Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada, Russia, Gulf countries and some African countries, South Korea among others, participated in the mega investment summit.<br><br></p>
