NC President back home from India, stresses on ‘one-China’ policy

<p>Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said Nepal and his party is firm on the 'one-China' policy. <br><br>The former Prime Minister who returned home today after attending a programme of the India Foundation held in Goa, India, said, Tibet is the integral part of China and he&nbsp; too, individually is firm on one China policy.<br><br>&nbsp;He said this while talking to media persons upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport from New Delhi. During his India visit, he held high- level meetings with Indian leaders in New Delhi.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>Expressing his displeasure at some of the Nepali media for what he said their disseminating false reports regarding his statements at the Goa event, he said he had no such meeting with any person against the one-China policy, contrary to the media reports.<br><br>He briefed the media his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi focused on further consolidating the bilateral ties and on Nepal's ongoing post- earthquake rebuilding efforts. He said he found that Modi has a high-level of goodwill towards Nepal. <br><br>On the occasion, the Indian Prime Minister suggested Nepal for involving ex-Gurkhas who as described by him are honest and responsible towards works in the reconstruction efforts. &nbsp;<br><br>He apprised Prime Minister Modi that Nepal is making efforts to forge a political consensus so as to make the constitution that is in the enforcement process all-acceptable.<br><br></p>
