Chhat Festival Begins

<p>The four day long, festival of Terai people Chhat is being celebrated in Mid and Eastern Terai tomorrow.</p><p>Major cities of Terai region: Janakpur, Birgunj, Gaur, Jaleshwor including rivers, lakes, ponds etc.</p><p>have been beautifully decorated for the celebration.</p><p>In this festival the Sun is worshipped at dawn and twilight.</p><p>Vegetarian food ingredients like banana, sugarcane, thakuwa and bhusuwa are mainly consumed during this festival.</p><p>On the very first day people fast, bathe in holy water and break the fast with vegetarian food.<br><br><br></p>
