<p>The Ministry of Information and Communications has formed a direction committee and subcommittees to monitor the implementation status of the Working Journalists' Act and the minimum wage to journalists.</p><p>Ministry Spokesperson Ram Chandra Dhakal, said the committee would be coordinated by Chairman of the Minimum Wage Determination Committee with the members -FNJ chairman, Ministry's Joint Secretary, Director General at Department of Information, Chairman of Media Society Nepal, Chairman of Broadcasting Association of Nepal, and Chairman of Association of Community Radio Broadcasters.</p><p><b>COMMUNICATION MINISTER<br></b><br>Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki has said the State-run media houses needs to be strengthened for competition and professionalism.<br><br>During a meeting with Radio Nepal, Nepal Television, RSS and Nepal Telecom yesterday, Minister Karki said "People would be practically benefitted if the government media are made more competititve.<br><br>He directed the organizations' representatives to come up with concrete work plans.<br>Minister Karki further said he is ready to extend any support from the Ministry for the dissemination of reliable and positive news and information to the public.<br><br>The Minister was briefed by the organization people on the situation of their respective media.<br><br></p>
