<p>One person was killed and another injured during a clash between an armed group and police personnel at Dewahi VDC of Rautahat today.<br><br>The deceased has been identified as Tejhilal Saha, of East Chamapran of India and is from the armed gang and the injured is a policeman.<br><br> Acting on a tip off that a huge cache of arms was being smuggled into the district via the Lalbakaiya River embankment at Dewahi VDC-8, a joint security squad from the District Police Office Gaur and the Area Police Office Garudha reached the site. But the gang comprising 3-4 individuals opened fire at the team shortly after it reached the site, forcing it take a retaliatory action, as the police stated.<br><br>Policeman Surendra Chaudhary was injured after he was hit by a shot from the gang. He is undergoing treatment at Chure Hill Hospital in Hetauda, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Nabin Krishna Bhandari.<br><br>One rifle, a home- made pistol and some bullets were confiscated from the possession of the dead. Others in the group are on the run and search for them is underway. <br><br></p>
