CIAA arrests IRD Director General Chudamani Sharma

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Director General at the Inland Revenue Department, Chudamani Sharma, today, accusing him of corruption on fixation of revenue.&nbsp;</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>On today itself, the CIAA had summoned Director General Sharma at its office to discuss the revenue fixation.&nbsp;</p><p>An officer at the CIAA confirmed that Sharma was arrested, is in detention. Additional information will be disclosed only after further investigation.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>A dozen of the complaints were filed at CIAA against Director General Sharma on unlawful exemption of tax to businesspersons.</p>
