SC’s show cause on LED bulb procurement process

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the government to furnish written reason in connection with the LED bulb procurement process.</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>A single bench of Justice Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai issued order to summon the government authorities for discussion besides furnishing reasons in writing, shared SC Spokesperson Mahendra Upadhyay.</p><p><br></p><p>Advocate duo, Lekhnath Bhattarai and Narayan Chaulgain, on Wednesday had registered a writ claiming the LED procurement process illegal.</p><p><br></p><p>The writ was filed at the apex court demanding interim order against Nepal Electricity Authority's illegal decision to advance the procurement of 20 million sets iof LED bulbs.</p>
