Buddha’s relic put on display

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">The 2561st Buddha Jayanti has been observed across the country today by worshiping and making prayers to the lord Gautam Buddha today.</span><br></p><p>Lord Buddha also known as the light of Asia is acclaimed world wide for showing a &nbsp;path of world peace and brotherhood.&nbsp;</p><p>Marking the day, the Swoyambhu Byabasthapan tatha Sanrakshan Mahasamiti has initiated a special Buddha worship and prayer programme .</p><p>The Mahasamiti, a body responsible for the management and conservation of the Swoyambhunath area, has been organising this special worship with the cooperation of the Buddhacharya Samaj on the occasion of the Buddha Jayanti every year. 
Devotees from Kathmandu and areas in its vicinity have been thronging the worship venue. Swoyambhunath temple and the complex has been cleaned and freshly painted for the occasion. 
Similarly,&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;The Buddha Jayanti Programme Main Committee has kept the 'Astidhatu', the relic of the Buddha, for public &nbsp;at the Anandakuti Vihar on the occasion of the Buddha Jayanti today.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The Astidhatu are the remains after the cremation of the Shakyamuni Gautam Buddha.&nbsp;</p>
