Polls to empower people with rights: PM Dahal

<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said people would be empowered with rights through the local level elections slated for May 14.&nbsp;</span><br></p><p><br></p><p>PM Dahal also urged all sides to help conclude the polls that he believed would help drive the country towards prosperity of the country.&nbsp;</p><p>He was speaking at 1st Chandragiri festival organised by Chandragiri Municipality.&nbsp;</p><p>He also pledged to make efforts to conserve the historical site while carrying out its infrastructure development.&nbsp;</p><p><b>PM Dahal inspects Koteshwor-Satdobato-Kalanki road section</b></p><p><br></p><p>Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has expressed concern over delay in construction works along the Koteshwor-Satdobato-Kalanki road section.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Prime Minister Dahal's concerns came after the government and concerned agencies received numbers of public complaints, saying they are bearing the brunt of the worst condition of the roads .&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>There are complaints galore from locals that the traffic congestion has affected the movement of vehicles, normal life of the locals has been affected due to dust and pollution and the contractors did not pay attention in expediting the road expansion drive.&nbsp;</p><p>Making the onsite visit of the road section today, the Prime Minister directed the bodies concerned to speed up the construction works, said PM's Press Advisor, Govinda Acharya.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The Prime Minister expressed concern over the poor state of the roads and the vehicles and construction materials rampantly kept on the road.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><b>Constitution amendment bill registered in parliament secretariat</b></p><p>The government has registered a new amendment bill of the constitution at the Legislature-Parliament secretariat today.&nbsp;</p><p>The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs registered the 'Bill designed to amend the Constitution of Nepal' at the secretariat.&nbsp;</p><p>The bill has proposed amendments to the constitution in 11 points.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Earlier, the government had withdrawn the amendment bill under consideration in the parliament.&nbsp;</p><p><b>Government withdraws constitution amendment bill</b></p><p><br></p><p>Minister for Law, Justice and Federal Affairs Ajay Shankar Nayak presented a proposal before the parliament meeting today, seeking a permission to take the bill back. The proposal presented for a decision was unanimously accepted by the meeting, according to Speaker Onsari Gharti.&nbsp;</p>
