<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">In a meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today, Energy Minister Janardan Sharma has presented the Electricity Regulatory Commission Bill-2073 BS. </span><br></p><p><br></p><p>Presenting the bill, Minister Sharma said the Bill was brought with an objective of controlling the power theft and bringing guilty in such irregularities to book.</p><p><br></p><p>The Bill that is viewed as an important tool for attaining economic development was introduced to the House after long discussions and efforts. </p><p><br></p><p>On the occasion, the Energy Minister underlined the need of forming an independent Commission to make the power trade easier, systematic, transparent and simplified.</p><p><br></p><p>He went on to say that the country had been moving towards the path of economic progress and prosperity with the ending of load-shedding. </p><p>The government had launched the 'Nepal's Water People's Investment' campaign to promote the hydropower sector with the use of domestic capital, he added. </p>
