Discussions on no-trust motion underway in parliament

<p>Parliamentary discussions are underway on the no-confidence motion registered by some political parties including the main opposition Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center ) against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. <br><br>Taking part in the discussions, NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said there was no legal confusion regarding the formation of a new government. <br>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br>Likewise CPN (UML)'s Jhalanath Khanal said his party believed that the&nbsp; process of government change should take place in an usual way and no-trust motion would only invite instability in the country. <br><br>Rekha Sharma of Maoist Centre said the no-confidence motion had to be introduced because Prime Minister Oli was ignorant towards fully implementing the constitution that has institutionalized achievements of various movements.<br><br>Upendra Yadav of Federal Socialist Forum said it was normal to support the no-confidence motion against the government that has suppressed the Tarai residents.<br><br>Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal (Democratic) Jitendra Narayan Dev and Rastriya Prajatantra Party's Bikram Pandey argued that claim by some parties that a new government could not be formed on constitutional ground was the reflection of extremist thinking and misinterpretation of the&nbsp; country's main law. &nbsp;<br><br>NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel stressed on continuing the culture of consensus and partnership even after the formation of the new government. &nbsp;<br><br>Similarly, lawmaker Dhaniram Sharma added that they were compelled to register the vote-of no-confidence motion due to irresponsibility of the government.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>Lawmaker Mahesh Acharya suggested PM Oli to resign from the post to ease the new government formation process. He even opined to not draw the president into the dispute. <br><br>CPN (UML)'s Rajendra Pandey said no remarks that undermine the dignity and self-esteem of others should be made inside the parliament. <br><br>Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat of Nepali Congress claimed that the Oli-led government was orienting towards proving itself as 'a model of bad governance'. He accused the incumbent government of overlooking the needs of earthquake survivors. <br><br>Gokarna Bista from the UML said&nbsp; making remarks hurting the dignity of others while delivering views on the no-trust motion would invite conflict in future. The UML is and would always be committed towards republic, democracy and federalism. &nbsp;<br><br>CPN (Maoist Center)'s Shakti Bahadur Basnet underlined the need of maintaining political unity amidst diversity and of discouraging the culture of practicing politics of negation. <br><br></p>
