Providing lump sum of RS 2 lakh to Earthquake Survivors not possible :DPM Mainali

<p>Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, CP Mainali, has said that providing a lump sum of Rs 200,000 to the earthquake survivors as demanded by the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, was not possible.</p><p>He said that it is not possible to provide a lump sum of Rs 200,000 to quake survivors as the donor agencies will not agree to provide the amount to the quake victims in a lump sum.<p>The Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare further said that it will be effective to provide the amount in installment as there is also chance of not constructing houses while providing the amount in a lump sum. <br><br>Stating that talks are underway to address the demands of the opposition party, he said that although the amount to be provided to quake survivors could be increased even after making some changes in the working procedure, the government could not provide the amount in a lump sum even it wishes.<br><br></p></p>
