<p><span style="line-height: 1.42857;">Lawmaker Dhanraj Gurung has registered a proposal of public importance in the Legislature Parliament Secretariat demanding to replace the paper notes with e-currency within two years meant for corruption control. </span><br></p><p><br></p><p>Stating that the country cannot move ahead until corruption is controlled, Congress Lawmaker Gurung said that corruption was pervasive including in politics, bureaucracy, commercial firms and other sectors and hence e-currency should be used to phase out the paper notes and thereby check corruption.</p><p><br></p><p>The e-currency ensures transparency in one's income and expenses and helps establish a welfare state through corruption control, reads the proposal. Lawmaker Badri Prasad Pandey and Jiban Pariyar have seconded Gurung's proposal.</p>
