PM Dahal leaving for China to attend Boao Forum for Asia

<p>Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is setting out for China tomorrow evening to take part in the annual conference of Boao Forum for Asia. The conference is being held from 23-29 in the Boao City of Hainan Province of the northern neighbour.<br><br>PM Dahal will be accompanied by his spouse Sita Dahal, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shanker Das Bairagi, and other high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).<br><br>Organizing a press in Singha Durbar today, Foreign Minister Dr Mahat shared that PM Dahal is attending the event at the invitation of the Forum's General-Secretary Zhou Wenzhong.<br><br>The prime minister is scheduled to hold a meeting with the Deputy-Prime Minister of China, Zhang Gaoli on March 24 and is expected to discuss the matters of mutual interests.<br><br>Similarly, PM Dahal will address in the inaugural session of the Forum on March 25. He will leave for Beijing the same day where PM Dahal will be paying a courtesy call on the Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to Minister Mahat.<br><br>Matters relating to strengthening Sino-Nepal relations are expected to figure during the meeting, said Minister Mahat.<br><br>PM Dahal is scheduled to address a programme 'Nepal-China Relations; Prospects for Growth and Prosperity' as a keynote speaker on March 26 to be organised by Beijing Foreign Studies University.<br>Similarly, he will hold discussion with Chinese business communities and will inaugurate Nepal Study Centre to be established at the premises of the University on the same day.<br><br>Likewise, the Nepali delegation led by the PM would reach Lhasa of Tibet, the autonomous region of China, on March 28. Discussion will be held with leaders of Tibetan government focusing on the issue of making the existing bilateral mechanism at local level between Nepal and Tibetan government more active, informed Minister Mahat.<br><br>Saying no any agreements, treaties and MoU would be signed during the visit, Minister Dr Mahat said that Nepal has completed its preparation on the key issues of mutual relations and cooperation.<br><br>He further said that the government of Nepal is confident that the agreement will be signed between Nepal and China on the issues in near future.<br><br><b>PM Dahal will return home on March 29.<br></b><br>PHSC unanimously approves names of proposed 12 ambassadors<br><br>The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee under the Legislature-Parliament has approved the names of proposed ambassadors for 12 countries.<br><br>PHSC member and Chief Whip of the CPN (UML), Bhanubhakta Dhakal, said that their names were unanimously approved after parliamentary hearing. The PHSC had carried out hearing of the proposed ambassadors for three days.<br><br>During the hearing, the proposed ambassadors had presented their views and plans and expressed commitment to carry out activities keeping the country's interest and economic diplomacy in priority. <br><br></p>
