Nepal and Djibouti have established formal bilateral diplomatic relations.
Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations and Mohamed Siad Doualeh, the Republic of Djibouti's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Ambassador to the United States signed an instrument to this effect at a brief ceremony at the Permanent Mission of Nepal in New York this afternoon.
Following this, the two ambassadors also jointly informed Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, about the establishment of Nepal-Djibouti bilateral relations today.
With this, the number of countries with which Nepal has established diplomatic relations has now reached 147.
On the occasion, they also exchanged views on further expanding the areas of cooperation at bilateral and multilateral forums, and committed to working together in pursuit of peace, development and common prosperity ahead.
