Re-polling in Bharatpur 19

The Election Commission had directed the the Chief Returning Officer of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan to make necessary arrangements for immediate re-election in the Ward No 19 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

The Commission issued this directives after the Apex Court quashed the writ filed relating to the vote counting in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

Earlier, the UML candidate had filed writ petition at the Supreme Court seeking nullification of the decision of the Election Commission. 


UML STANDING COMMITTEE MEETING

The CPN UML standing committee meeting has concluded the Supreme Court verdict to conduct re-poll at Bharatpur Metropolitan ward  No.19 is unfortunate.

The meeting has, however, decided to move ahead accepting the Supreme Court verdict.

CPN UML party publicity department Chief Yogesh Bhatarai has said the party has directed its cadres to actively participate in the upcoming poll.

Likewise Bhattarai has reiterated the party's stance that the constitution amendment is impossible before election. He further said the party will deliberate on it after provincial and third phase of local level election.

The party has also appealed the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal to participate in the 3rd phase of local election and in provincial and federal election.
