PM seeks Buddhist University's role to promote Nepal's other heritage sites

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the purpose of the establishment of Lumbini Buddhist University is also to familialrise the world about Nepal's distinct heritage sites. 

Addressing the eighth senate of the University in Kathmandu today, the Prime Minister insisted that the publicity and promotion of other heritage sites carrying historic and archaeological importance should be also the focus of the University. 

He said the identity of Buddha is not just connected to any particular religion, caste, community and nation rather he is the light of the entire world. 

He stressed the need of developing Lumbini as an excellent International Buddha Study Centre. 

Also speaking on the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Gopalman Shrestha said, the Buddhist philosophy is useful for the welfare of entire human by giving up personal interests. The University should get involved for its promotion.
