Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar has said a lingual policy which will be acceptable for all should be formulated as the constitution has equally recongised all languages that are spoken in the country.
Taking part in a seminar on 'constitutional responsibility of the Language Commission and Future Roadmap' organised by the Language Commission today, the Speaker stressed that the Commission should play a role in promoting minority languages and bringing them to a balance.
Lawmakers Ganeshman Gurung, Gopal Dahit and Aindra Sundar Nembang opined that political parties despite having diverse ideologies should be united for the protection and promotion of all languages that are existent in the nation. They are of the view that the government should increase investment in research works focusing linguistic and cultural diversities.
Commission Chair Laba Dev Awasthi said all languages in existence are invaluable properties of human communities, and languages are the means of learning and getting knowledge. The Commission is committed to protecting and promoting all languages of the country, he underscored.
