Construction work of Upper Nesham Hydropower Project has been started at Balefi (Bramhayani) corridor in Sindhupalchowk district.
Project Chairman Churna Prasad Shrestha said that out of 34 kilometres approach road of the project, 26 kilometres has been already constructed. The powerhouse of the 43-MW hydropower project is to be constructed at Ambakharka of Jugal Rural Municipality-3.
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of the project, going to be constructed at Rs 6.60 billion investment of Sindhujwala Hydropower Ltd, has already been signed.
The power produced from the project would be connected to the National Grid. There is a target to complete the construction task of the project within mid-June 2020.
Managing Director of the Project, Badri Bahadur Karki, said that the project would distribute 10 per cent share of the project to the district folks and 25 per cent share to general people.
