Two former Inspectors General of Police – Om Bikram Rana and Hem Bahadur Gurung and DIG Deepak Kumar Shrestha and the then AIG Deepak Singh Thangen have been sent to the as per the Supreme Court order.
The former Nepal Police IGPs along with other senior officials, were convicted in multimillion dollar Sudan scam and slapped jail sentence along with penalty, on April 30.
They were found guilty in embezzling funds and sending substandard logistics to Sudan for the Nepal Police personnel deployed for the United National peacekeeping mission.
Both Rana and Gurung have been sent to jail.
However, they can file an appeal against the conviction verdict.
