President Bidya Devi Bhandari, who is currently in Switzerland in course of her participation at the International Labour Conference, has visited the European Council for Nuclear Research.
She was welcomed by a high level official and two Nepali scientists- A Sharma and S Shrestha -at the Council for Nuclear Research, which was established in 1952.
The high level official informed her of the Research centre's activities. Information was shared also about the centre in Nepal and the opportunity it offered to Nepali scientists.
During the visit, President Bhandari hailed the Council for Nuclear Research for its scientific research and development for the human peace. She also thanked the centre for its assistance to Nepali students.
Similarly, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has hold talks with International Labour Organization (ILO) Director General, Guy Ryder. The meeting was attended by Malta's President Marie – Louise Coleiro Preca and President of Mauritius, Ameenah Gurib.
Also, the President made a visit to the International Labour Organization (ILO) headquarters.
President Bhandari extended her gratitude to all the member countries supporting Nepal for its election to the International Labour Organization (ILO)'s Governing Body.
The President gave her key note speech in Nepali language which was simultaneously translated into English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Arabian and Russian languages.
President Bhandari signed the 'Golden Book' kept at the International Labour Organization (ILO) headquarters.
She signed the book placed on a big table at Room X. On the occasion, ILO Director General, Guy Ryder, presented the President with a gift.
