Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has praised the Nepal Police for its role in conducting the first-phase local level election in a free, fair and fear-free environment, and also directed it to play a similar role in the second-phase local, province and federal level elections as well.
Addressing the Police Inspector Basic Training 165th Batch convocation ceremony at the National Police Academy today, PM Dahal expressed that the police officers who are graduating today, too, have the challenging responsibility of helping conduct the forthcoming second-phase local level election.
The PM said the police is also the 'legal eye' which keeps a watch in all places.
He directed the graduates to make the right and appropriate use of the knowledge, skills and tactics that they have learned in curbing criminal and untoward activities.
On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi urged police department to make police service more effective.
He also directed the graduated police officers to make feasible environment for the citizens to avail of police service unbiased.
Also, Inspector General of Police Prakash Aryal urged the police officers to discharge their duties in a disciplined manner.
