The number of the ballot papers that were torn down when vote counting was underway for Ward Number 19 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City on May remains 90.
The count was obstructed after the CPN (Maoist Centre) representatives allegedly tore the ballot papers while vote counting under the first-phase local level election in Bharatpur Metropolitan City on Sunday night.
According to chief election officer, the torn ballot papers which can not be counted would be sent to the office of the Election Commission.
District Court Chitwan today freed two cadres of the CPN (Maoist Centre) who were alleged of tearing the ballot papers last Sunday. They were freed on bail.
A single bench of Judge Basudev Poudel freed them on the bail of Rs 100,000 each during the hearing whether they could be kept in detention for further investigation.
