Final results of 278 local units have been declared for the first phase of local level elections held on May 14.
According to the latest results, CPN(UML) candidates have been victorious as mayor or rural municipality chairperson in 120 local units.
Likewise, Nepali congress has bagged victory in mayor's or chairperson's post in 105 units.
Similarly, Maoist-centre candidates have been victorious in the post of mayor or chairperson in 46 local units.
Meanwhile, other parties including independent candidates have gained victory in mayor or chairperson's post in 7 local units.
Nepali congress candidates have won both the post of mayor and deputy mayor of Lalitpur metropolitan city.
Chiribau Maharjan of Nepali won the mayoral post with 24642, while his nearest competitor Hari Krishna Byanjankar of UML got 24316.
Similarly, Geeta Satyal of Nepali Congress won the deputy mayors post with 19819 votes, while her nearest competitor of Sajha party Sobha Shakya got 14240.
Counting of votes however for other three metropolitan cities of the country is on going.
Bidhya Sundar Shakya of CPN(UML) is leading the race for the post of Mayor of Kathmandu metropolis with 42380 votes, while second is Rajuraj Joshi of Nepali congress with 30270 votes.
Likewise, in Bharatpur Metropolitan city, Devi Gyawali of CPN is leading with 27562 votes, while Renu Dahal of CPN(Maoist centre) is at the second position with 24561 votes.
Man Bahadur GC of CPN (UML) is leading the racee for Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan city's with 35949 votes, while Ramji Kuwar of NC is second with 29481votes.
