With the objective of spreading the message of national unity and self-dignity, a 15-feet-long national flag has been flown at the mausoleum of Kalu Pandey, the commander of the Gorkhali forces during the unification campaign of Nepal, at Dahachowk.
The flag hoisting is a part of the tourism development programme launched by the Indradaha Integrated Development Committee to promote tourism in the area.
The place where the national flag has been hoisted is 2300 meters above the sea level.
Speaking at the event, Nepali Congress leader and lawmaker Dhyan Gobinda Ranjit expressed hope that hoisting the flag would disseminate a message of social unity and promote tourism.
Likewise, CPN-UML leader and lawmaker Rameshwor Phuyal said foreign interference has increased due to the weakening of national unity.
The committee chairman Hari Sharan Thapa underscored the need for all political parties to rise above partisan interest for nationality. ##
