Nepal made it to the finals of the AFC solidarity Cup football championship, edging Laos 3-0 in a match played today at the Negeri Stadium in Kuching, Malaysia. The match was decided through penalty shoot-out.
Goalkeeper Kiran Kumar Limbu helped Nepal secure a win by saving two penalty kicks from the opponent Laos players. Likewise, another shot from a Laos player was charged beyond the goalpost.
As for Nepali team, all three players Heman Gurung, Bikram Lama and Sujal Shrestha did not miss the target.
Before ending up in a tiebreaker, the two teams played a 2-2 draw in the stipulated 90 minutes and extra time.
Meanwhile, Macau will take on Brunei on Tuesday in the semi-final. Nepal will play against the winner for the winner title.
