Lawmakers at a meeting of the Development Committee under the Legislature-Parliament today expressed serious concern over the poor condition of the Kalanki-Nagdhunga stretch of the East West Highway in the Capital and the inconvenience to the commuters due to severe traffic congestion.

The reality is that these days a commuter has to spend up to four hours to travel from Kalanki to Nagdhunga, a distance of seven kilometers.

Most lawmakers present at the meeting drew the attention of the government towards the completion of the widening task on time and improve the situation of the Valley roads on time which turn muddy in rainy season and dusty, giving too much troubles to the commuters and pedestrians.
