Water level in koshi river increases

Waters level in the Saptakoshi River has increased, following incessant rains in the eastern hilly region since Tuesday.

River's water flow was measured 161,425 cusec per second at 7:00 am today, Koshi Barrage Control Room technicians said.

Barrage's 22 gates are opened as water flow of the river continues to rise.  

Sunsari's Police Chief Superintendent of Police Poshraj Pokhrel said water level is expected to further rise as the hilly region witnessed rainfall throughout the night.
