Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has said implementation of the constitution rather than the change in government is important for the Congress party.
Talking to journalists at Biratnagar airport today, leader Paudel said that there had been no discussion about the change in the government within the party. Parties should focus on implementing the constitution rather than in changing power equations, he said.
Leader Poudel also stressed that local elections should be held as per the structure of the new constitution. Stating that the demands of the Madhesi front could be addressed through amendment in the constitution, Poudel urged the front to respond to the communiqué of the government for a dialogue, and take the initiative to resolve the problem through talks.
