Govt. Identified 12 Kabul Victims, DPM Thapa Condolance demise of 14 Nepalis

Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nepal has confirmed the death of 12 Nepalis, who were killed in a suicide bomb attack in Kabul today.

The deceased were identified as Chandra Bahadur Rana Magar, Kathmandu, Amrit Bahadur Thapa, Lamjung, Dambar Bahadur Tamang, Nuwakot, Krishna Bahadur Dhungana, Chitwan, Suka Bahadur Gurung, Syangja, Jitendra Singh Thapa, Butwal, Madhusudan Koirala, Nuwakot, Bidur Bahadur Subedi Chhetri, Kathmandu,Lil Bahadur Gurung, Nuwakot, Nabin Singh Chhetri, Parbat, Akur Tamang, Sunsari, Hari Bahadur Baduwal Chhetri, Kathmandu


Major political parties have expressed sorrow over the demise of 12 Nepalis in a suicide bombing carried out in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan this morning.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in a press statement said the party's serious attention was drawn to the incident.

Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the party has wished for speedy recovery of those wounded in the terrorist attack.

Likewise, the CPN (UML) has condemned the incident carried out by a terrorist group

The party issued a press release and said that it is hurt by the inhumane incident took place in Kabul.

The party has drawn the Nepal Government's serious attention to take necessary steps to get the bodies back home and hand them over to the families,
Likewise, CPN (Maoist Center) condemned the Kabul suicide bombing. In a press statement today, the party prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished for speedy recovery of the injured.


Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamal Thapa, has informed today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament  that 12 Nepalis have lost their lives in a terrorist attack at Kabul, Afghanistan, this morning.

DPM Thapa also briefed that five Nepalis injured in the attack are receiving treatment.

Referring to the attack as a crime against humanity, he said that the government of Nepal strongly condemns the attack.

Minister Thapa said that the Nepalis, working at a British Company there, came under suicide bomb attack at 5:40 am, when they were heading towards the Canadian Embassy from Nepali Company on a mini-bus.  

He further said that Charge d' Affaires of Nepali Embassy in Pakistan  has already been directed to go there to make arrangement to bring the bodies of the Nepalis killed in terrorist attack to Nepal as well as arrange for the treatment of the injured.

A desk has been established at the Foreign Ministry to provide necessary information to the families of Kabul victims as well as for other help.

Wishing for eternal peace of those killed in the attack, the government has extended heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families.  The Government of Nepal has drawn the attention of the Government of Afghanistan to provide security to the Nepalis in Afghanistan and demanded to book the criminals immediately, informed DPM Thapa.


Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa has condemned the suicide bombing carried out targeting a minibus carrying Nepali citizens in Kabul of Afghanistan today. Fourteen Nepalis were killed and nine others were injured in the explosion.

Talking to media persons at Dhangadhi Airport, Minister Thapa expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Nepali citizens in the incident.
On a different note, he said the government was seriously working to enforce the new constitution. He went on saying that misunderstanding seen of late between Nepal and India has already been cleared off.
