For the first time in history, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has made transaction of shares worth over 2 billion rupees.
General Manager at NEPSE, Sitaram Thapaliya, said that the share transaction was worth more than Rs. 2.19 billion today.
A total of 134 companies' 1.6 million points of share were traded. Prior to this, the highest transaction the NEPSE had recorded was worth Rs 1.96 billion, said assistant spokesperson Murahari Parajuli.
Increased liquidity, decrease in interest rate, lack of option for secure investment have contributed to the rising trend of share transaction.
