The CPN (UML) aligned Nepal Civil Servants Employees Association has emerged as the victor in the Civil Servants' Trade Union election held yesterday.
Chief Election Officer, Gita Prasad Timalsena, said the Association secured 44.39 per cent or 21,127 votes to win the election.
Nepali Congress (NC) aligned Nepal Civil Servants Employees Union obtained 34.16 per cent or 16, 259 votes to secure the second spot while CPN Maoist Centre's wing Nepal National Civil Servants Employees Association garnered 10.57 per cent or 5,027 votes.
The Madhes-centric parties' Nepal Madhesi Civil Servants Employees Forum garnered 7.48 per cent or 3,561 votes.
Of the total 55, 329 voters, 88.73 per cent or 49,095 voters cast their votes, Timalsena said, adding 1, 501 votes of the total became invalid.
