CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the ordinance on formation of the National Assembly recommended by the government to the President cannot not be issued because it is against the constitution.

Addressing a programme organized by the Left Alliance in the capital city today, UML Chairman Oli said that the ordinance cannot be issued as the current government has put the provision of single transferrable vote system bypassing parliamentary committee's decision to form the national assembly through majority voting.

Oli said the ordinance cannot be the means for any particular political party for power misuse. He also said that it is false to say new government cannot be formed without national assembly.

Expressing displeasure to the statement by the government spokesperson, Chairman Oli urged concerned all not to drag the President into controversy. He also asked all not to harbour doubts on unification of left parties and political stability and prosperity.

He said "Socialism-oriented new party will be formed with the unification of the UML and Maoist Centre. And It is not the swallowing of one party by another.
