52 Parties submitting closed list for proportional representation

A total of 52 parties including major political parties - NC, CPN UML and CPN Maoist Centre have submitted the closed lists for the proportional representation in the elections of House of Representatives and State Assemblies at the Office of Election Commission at Kantipath in the capital city today. 

A total of 88 political parties had submitted applications out of 91 political parties registered in the Election Commission. Some political parties are still preparing the list to submit at the Commission.

The Election Commission had fixed the time for submitting the closed list from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm today. 

Maoist Centre party leaders including Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal reached the EC Office and submitted the list before 5:00 pm. According to Bhusal, the party submitted the names of 57 women and 53 males for federal parliament.

Similarly, the Nepali Congress (NC) has also submitted the closed name list at the Election Commission. 

According to NC party office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel, the ratio for the Khas Arya candidacies for female and male towards the federal parliament is 17: 17 while the ratio for ethnic female and male is 16:16.  For the federal parliament, the list proposes 57 female and 53 male.

Likewise, CPN UML has also submitted the closed list at the Election Commission this evening.
