UML to provide one month's salary of its lawmakers for flood victims

CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting has taken the decision to provide a month's salary of its lawmakers to raise funds for the families hit by flooding and landslides. 


In the meeting at the Legislature - Parliament building in New Baneshwor today, the party also demanded the government to provide Rs 500,000 to each family of those killed in the flood and landslide. 


The meeting called on the government to carry out a fact finding missing over the inundation of the Nepali territories due to the barrage built by India in the no man's land. 

UML has also demanded the government to fulfill as much as demands put forth by Prof Dr Govinda KC, who is on a fast - unto - death, and inform Dr KC about the demands that cannot be fulfilled. 


Lawmakers draw govt. attention for effective rescue, relief and rehabilitation of flood victims 


Lawmakers have urged the government to pay attention in immediate and effective rescue, relief distribution and rehabilitation of landslide and flood victims.


Speaking in the special hour of today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament, lawmakers also demanded to provide at least Rs 500,000 to each family of those killed in flood and to increase the amount provided by the government for maintenance of the damaged houses. 


Speaker Onsari Gharti cut the lawmakers’ deliberations time short after the CPN (UML) lawmakers demanded not to extend the same issue as it was the similar to the proposal of important public deliberations in today’s meeting schedule.
