Sri Lankan State Minister for Foreign Affairs calls on DPM Mahara

Visiting Sri Lankan State Minister for Foreign Affairs Vasantha Senanayake paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara today.


During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singha Durbar, the two discussed on wide range of matters of mutual interest.


On the occasion, DPM Mahara termed Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, as a bridge between Nepal and Sri Lanka and said that the cultural ties between these two countries are strong enough due to the Buddhism. 


Similarly, the Sri Lankan State Minister Senanayake underlined the need to take initiative to enhance connectivity between the two countries laying greater focus on Lumbini.
